Ho Chi Minh City adds data center to serve digital transformation

HCMC, On the morning of August 20, FPT Corporation officially inaugurated and put into operation the FPT Fornix HCM02 center at the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park.

The event was attended by Mr. Lam Dinh Thang - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Ky Phung - Head of the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, and leaders of FPT.

FPT Fornix HCM02 is built with a scale of 8 floors, a total area of up to 10,000m2 and a capacity of up to 3,600 racks. The center is built according to an outstanding backup architecture with N+1, N+2, 2N configurations, allowing continuous uninterrupted maintenance, ensuring stable operation with uptime of ≥99.982%.

This is a key factor for businesses operating in fields such as banking, e-commerce, logistics, and national digital transformation projects - which require information technology systems not to stop slowing down for just a few seconds.

Sharing at the event, Mr. Hoang Viet Anh - Chairman of FPT Telecom under FPT Corporation - emphasized the operation of the Fornix HCM02 data center, marking a new step in the development of the unit.

According to a report by Mordor Intelligence, the domestic data center market is estimated to reach 524.7 MW in 2025, expected to reach 950.4 MW by 2030, equivalent to an average growth rate of more than 12.6% per year.

In Southeast Asia, a new focus of the global digital economy, Vietnam aims to become a regional Digital Hub by 2030. With a leading scale in Vietnam, modern technology meeting international standards and a sustainable development orientation, FPT's new data center will play an important role in serving the platforms of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud computing and Digital Transformation, contributing to the realization of major goals and programs of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general.

Currently, in Ho Chi Minh City, there are nearly 20 data centers, most of which are located in Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park and Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park...
