Apple's long-awaited smart home hub could be officially launched later this year, according to the latest source from Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.
Speculation about this product has been around since 2022, when Apple was said to have "turned a green light" on the project. However, the development process has encountered many problems, especially related to the integration of Apple Intelligence and Siri upgrades - a factor that prompted Apple to postpone the product announcement last March.
Gurman updated that a basic version of the device will be released by the end of this year at the earliest. In addition, Apple is also developing a higher-end version that can "move around the desk with a Robot arm", expected to appear in one to two years.
Apple is keeping the official information confidential, but experts say the device will have a 7-inch screen, a new operating system called homeOS, and a control interface inspired by Stand By mode on the iPhone. This device will compete directly with products such as Amazon Echo or Google Nest Hub.
