The Shopping Cart Assistant feature is currently being tested by Uber Eats. Users can find grocery stores on the application, then select the assistant icon to start shopping.
According to Uber Eats, users can enter product lists or upload shopping list images. The AI system will automatically recognize and add items to the shopping cart. This tool can also process handwritten list photos or screenshots of recipes, thereby proposing suitable ingredients.
After the list is created, users can change product brands or add more items according to their needs. Uber Eats said that the AI system also uses pre-order data to suggest familiar products, helping to personalize the shopping experience.
Praveen Neppalli Naga - Uber's Chief Technology Officer said users are in need of faster and more convenient shopping. He said Shopping Assistant helps shorten the time from brainstorming ideas to completing payment.
This move is seen as a step to help Uber Eats increase its competitiveness in the field of food delivery and online grocery shopping.
