Apple Vision Pro is a rather special product, it once overwhelmed many people two years ago. But it is hard to ignore the fact that the visionOS platform at that time was not yet complete due to the lack of specialized applications from YouTube and Netflix.
Now, it seems that Google has finally seriously recognized Apple Vision Pro, when officially launching the YouTube application for this platform. Previously, users could only watch YouTube through Safari or third-party applications.
According to a representative of Apple, the YouTube application on Vision Pro fully supports the entire content of the service, including short videos (Shorts), 360-degree videos, 3D and VR 180 content.
From a broader perspective, YouTube's official entry on Vision Pro not only helps complete the entertainment experience on Apple's space reality device, but also shows that the race between the "big guys" of technology in the XR field is entering a more practical stage, where content and real-world applications play a decisive role.
When the biggest barrier is no longer in hardware but in the ecosystem, the hesitant names, typically Netflix, will soon have to make a choice: either quickly get involved, or accept standing outside a platform that is gradually finding a foothold in the future.
