iPhone users can soon experience a completely new look of WhatsApp as the app prepares to integrate the Liquid Glass design language, a standout feature on iOS 26, expected to be released right after the iPhone 17 launch event on September 9.
According to a report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has begun testing the Liquid Glass interface in the beta version 25.24.10.70 on the TestFlight platform.
This is considered a step to synchronize the user experience with iOS 26, which was completely redesigned by Apple.
What is Liquid Glass?
Unlike the previous iOS interface, Liquid Glass creates a strong intuitive change. The symbols are completely designed newly, while the now transparent interface components are like glass, capable of reflecting light, bringing a vivid and natural effect.
When applied to WhatsApp, users will feel a more seamless experience, instead of the difference between the application and the operating system.
Where will Facebook start?
The initial phase of the upgrade will focus on the main navigation components at the bottom of the screen, it is revealed.
This is the area where users interact the most, so it will be a reasonable first step before Google expands the Liquid Glass design to the entire application.
When can you experience it?
Currently, the development process is only at the planning stage. Therefore, it is not possible to confirm the exact time of issuance of the official update.
Most likely, users will have to wait a little longer, because converting the interface requires a lot of testing to ensure stability.
The combination of iOS 26 and WhatsApp promises to bring a completely new visual experience, in line with Apple's direction in enhancing the aesthetics and seamlessness of the operating system.
If successful, Google will become one of the first third-party apps to fully exploit the Liquid Glass design language, opening up expectations that many other popular apps will soon follow.
