Elon Musk is currently the co-founder of 7 businesses, most notably electric car company Tesla, rocket manufacturer SpaceX and artificial intelligence startup xAI.
At Tesla, he has held the role of CEO since 2008 after the first capital injection in 2004. Currently, this billionaire owns about 12% of shares and has the option to buy an additional 8% of shares here.
Previously in 2022, Elon Musk led a group of investors to acquire Twitter for 44 billion USD. By 2025, he continued to merge Twitter with xAI, bringing the value of the merged company to 113 billion USD (after deducting debt).
Notably, in February 2026, SpaceX - an aerospace enterprise founded by Elon Musk in 2002, completed the acquisition of xAI. After the merger, the value of this merged entity is valued at 1,250 billion USD, of which Mr. Musk is estimated to hold 41% of shares.
