An Giang Provincial Women's Union, the Provincial Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, and the Provincial Labor Federation have just coordinated with Hon Dat commune to organize a contest to make typical cakes of the Khmer ethnic people and decorate five-fruit trays to celebrate the traditional Tet Chol Chnam Thmay 2026. The contest is part of a series of Tet events for the Army and People in 2026 in Hon Dat commune celebrating Chol Chnam Thmay.

10 teams participated with 100 members who are officials, members, women; officials, civil servants, public employees, laborers, ethnic minorities and officials, soldiers, armed forces in Hon Dat commune. The teams competed in the following categories: wrapping banh tet, banh it, decorating gratitude fruit trays and presentation competition.
Through the contest, the Organizing Committee wishes to contribute to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Khmer ethnic people in An Giang province; Create a joyful and warm cultural exchange space; strengthen solidarity between cadres, members, women, trade union members, workers, Khmer ethnic people and cadres, soldiers of the armed forces and people in the Tet Quan Dan program. From there, contribute to promoting the local image and building a new rural cultural life.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize and the thematic prize "Best Presentation" to Team No. 9 of Hon Dat High School Cluster, Phan Thi Rang Secondary & High School and Nam Thai Son Secondary & High School.
On this occasion, the Provincial Women's Union, Hon Dat commune also mobilized to donate many gifts to difficult circumstances in Hon Dat commune; Hon Dat Poor Patient Support Association donated 10 bicycles to students in difficult circumstances.
