On February 26, the Logistics Department of An Giang Provincial Police coordinated with O Lam Commune Police to organize a program of medical examination, free medicine distribution, and gift giving to policy families and people in the Khmer ethnic group in difficult circumstances in O Lam commune. This is considered a practical activity to celebrate the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day.

Accordingly, the force of doctors from the Provincial Police Hospital examined, prescribed and dispensed medicine to nearly 160 people. Through examinations, doctors and nurses promptly detected and advised on how to prevent and treat some main disease groups that people here often encounter such as: osteoarthritis, high blood pressure, diabetes, stomach, cardiovascular, respiratory, skin diseases... In addition to initial diagnosis based on the symptoms of some diseases, doctors also advise on how to prevent common diseases, guide people on how to eat and live hygienically, prevent epidemics and take care of and protect their health for themselves and their families.

Mr. Chau Cho, a resident of O Lam commune, shared: "I as well as the people here are very happy and touched to have the doctors and nurses of the Provincial Police Hospital come to the locality for medical examination and free medicine distribution; this activity is not only material support but also a great source of spiritual encouragement for us".
In addition to medical examinations and free medicine distribution, the working delegation also handed over 150 gifts (including instant noodles and cash) to poor and near-poor Khmer ethnic minority households in the commune.

The total budget for this program is about 40 million VND, contributed by officers and soldiers and mobilized from philanthropists. Speaking at the program, Lieutenant Colonel Duong Chi Kham - Head of Clinic No. 2, An Giang Provincial Police emphasized: The activities of medical examination, free medicine distribution and gift giving to policy families and households in difficult circumstances in O Lam commune are not only charity activities, but also aimed at sharing difficulties, expressing the spirit of "mutual affection" and beautifying the image of police soldiers in the hearts of the people.

At the same time, he affirmed that in the past time, in addition to taking care of the health of officers and soldiers in the Provincial Police force, the Provincial Police Hospital also focused on taking care of people's lives, actively participating in social security activities, with the spirit of close attachment to the people, promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc in the cause of protecting national security.
On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of O Lam commune, Lieutenant Colonel Thai Thanh Binh, Deputy Head of O Lam Commune Police, thanked the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of the Provincial Police, leaders of the Logistics Department and the team of doctors and nurses of the Provincial Police Hospital for their concern and support for the locality with this meaningful program of medical examination, free medicine distribution and gifts.

Comrade assessed that today's practical activities not only contribute to taking care of the health and supporting the lives of people, especially policy families, poor and near-poor households, the elderly, and people who often have difficulty accessing specialized medical services, but also strengthen the close relationship between the Police force and Party committees, authorities and local people, contributing to building a beautiful image of a Police soldier who is close to the people, close to the people, and serves the people, reflecting the true spirit in implementing the "Three Firsts - Most Disciplined - Most Loyal - Closest to the People" emulation movement launched by the Ministry of Public Security and An Giang Provincial Police.
