3 provinces and cities speed up the construction of social housing, eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses

The three provinces of Ha Nam, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An are actively implementing the movement to build social housing, eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.

In recent days, Central Party Committee member and Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung chaired a meeting with Ha Nam, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An provinces with many contents on promoting production and business, public investment, import and export, national target programs, etc.

According to the report of Nghe An province, closely following the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister and the support of ministries and central branches, especially the efforts of all levels, sectors, people and business community, the situation of socio -economic development in the first quarter of Nghe An province achieved many positive results.

In Nghe An province, there are 5 independent social housing projects, 36 social housing projects in the 20% fund of commercial projects, and 6 projects for worker accommodation in industrial parks. It is expected that after completion, it will provide about 35,000 apartments, so far there are 3 projects with 1,756 apartments completed.

For Thanh Hoa province, in 2025, the province has focused on leading, directing, and implementing drastically, synchronously, and effectively the tasks and solutions for the development of sectors and fields.

With the efforts of the business community and the people, the socio-economic situation, national defense and security in the first quarter of 2025 of the province continued to have positive changes and achieved important results in all fields.

Regarding social housing development, up to now, Thanh Hoa province has completed 1,817 apartments.

Regarding the construction of houses for poor households, near-poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the province in conjunction with the implementation of Directive No. 42/CT-TTg dated November 9, 2024 of the Prime Minister on accelerating the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, as of March 25, 2025, Thanh Hoa province has a total support budget received by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels of VND 523.684 billion.

The whole province of Thanh Hoa has supported the groundbreaking of construction and repair of houses for 6,089 households/house (built 4,691 new households/house; repaired 1,398 households/house).

For Ha Nam province, in the first quarter of 2025, Ha Nam's socio-economic situation will remain stable and have development steps. The province's economic growth rate reached 10.54%. Import-export activities have increased quite well; investment attraction has increased; trade, service and tourism sectors have achieved positive results.

Regarding the implementation of the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, according to the results of reviewing the need for support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in districts, towns and cities, in Ha Nam province, 282 poor and near-poor households were approved.

Of which, 182 poor households and near-poor households need to rebuild and 100 households need to repair; 338 meritorious households and martyrs' relatives need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

As of March 28, 2025, 136 households have started construction and repaired their houses. Social security work and the implementation of national target programs have been strongly and effectively implemented. The province has also paid attention to investing in rural infrastructure, gradually meeting the criteria of advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas associated with urban development.

At the meeting, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung highly appreciated the efforts of the three provinces of Ha Nam, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An in production and business, public investment, import-export, implementation of national target programs, and emulation movements.

Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Dao Ngoc Dung also emphasized the importance of localities in the general picture, contributing to the country's growth goals.
