On March 19, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tra On district held a ceremony to hand over solidarity houses to poor households facing housing difficulties under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Prime Minister.
This is the first house in the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025 in the district to be completed and handed over for use.
The house with an area of nearly 50m2 was handed over to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quan, born in 1965, residing in Vinh Trinh hamlet, Vinh Xuan commune with a total construction cost of 80 million VND.
In which, Venerable Thich Nu Duc Quang - Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Tra On District - Abbot of Thien Phuoc Pagoda, Zone 5, Tra On Town, Tra On District supported 60 million VND, the remaining amount was contributed by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quan's family and relatives to complete the house more spaciously.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Quoc Dien - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Tra On district affirmed that supporting the construction of solidarity houses for poor and near-poor households is a policy of profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the strong determination of Party committees at all levels, authorities and the social community.
According to Mr. Dien, the District Fatherland Front acknowledged the golden heart of Venerable Thich Nu Thi Duc Quang - Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Tra On District, who accompanied the district to support the construction of 12 solidarity houses in 2025, each house worth 60 million VND, and supported the construction of 2 rural traffic bridges worth over 400 million VND.
"Congratulations to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quan's family for their new, spacious and solid house, hoping that when they have a stable place to live, the family will continue to strive to increase production, develop the economy, and escape poverty sustainably," Mr. Dien added.
On this occasion, the local government sent Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quan's family many gifts to celebrate their new house; Principal Thich Nu Duc Quang gave the family 2 million VND, encouraged the spirit, and wished the family a long time to " settle down and make a living".
