Ho Chi Minh City - Hundreds of students in Dat Do commune experienced the reality of craft village spaces in the cultural heritage education program.

On August 28, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Museum - Library, Ho Chi Minh City Drama Theater (Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports), Student Department (Department of Education and Training), Dat Do commune, Vo Thi Sau High School jointly organized the program "Cultural Heritage Education" for students in the city (area 3).

This is a practical activity to implement the Party and State's policy on building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.

In the program, hundreds of students directly experienced the craft village spaces recreated by the Organizing Committee such as: Binh Duong pottery making; lacquer product display; An Ngai rice paper making... Previously, the program also organized "Heritage Bus" taking students to experience visiting historical and cultural relics in the eastern area of Ho Chi Minh City.

Experiencing the rice paper making profession in the program, Ho Sy Bao Nguyen (12A4 class, Vo Thi Sau High School) said that he felt very new when making rice paper himself for the first time.

Previously, my grandmother also made rice paper to make a living, but I only heard about it. Through practical work, I understand more about her life in the past as well as learn more about local culture in the place where I live," Bao Nguyen said.

According to the Organizing Committee, Ho Chi Minh City is a land with historical depth and rich cultural life with a diverse heritage system. These values not only reflect the history of formation and development but also show the dynamic, creative, and affectionate spirit of the people of Ho Chi Minh City.

Bringing cultural heritage into schools is of great significance, contributing to innovating teaching and learning methods in schools, helping children learn history, culture and life skills in a more visual, vivid and attractive way.

Through this, it not only brings knowledge but also helps students love history, national culture and be proud of their homeland. At the same time, it helps them understand that culture is present in daily life and needs to be preserved and promoted through the awareness and actions of each citizen.
