The Organizing Committee of the civil defense exercise of Sam Mun commune (Dien Bien) has just organized a civil defense exercise to respond to storms, floods and search and rescue in 2026. Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended and watched the exercise, according to Dien Bien Provincial e-Portal.
The exercise includes two contents: mechanism operation and live combat. In the mechanism operation part, the Commune Civil Defense Command organizes conferences to assess the situation, adjust disaster response plans, deploy handling plans, coordinate and assign tasks between forces according to simulated situations.
The live-fire part took place at the foot of high point 575, Pa Nam village with a simulated situation of flash floods, landslides and landslides. The forces quickly evacuated people and property to safe places; deployed search, rescue, and disaster recovery.
Medical forces perform first aid for victims, environmental sanitation, and disease prevention; police forces ensure security and order in the incident area and evacuation area.
Speaking at the drill, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Phu acknowledged and praised the spirit of responsibility of the Party Committee, government, Civil Defense Command of Sam Mun commune and participating forces.
Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee assessed that the drill was prepared seriously, fully completed the content and program according to plan, ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment.
The drill contributes to improving the command and operation capacity of local Party committees and authorities; training coordination skills between forces in handling natural disaster situations, being ready to respond, minimizing damage to people and property.
At the end of the program, the organizing committee proceeded to close, evaluate the results, draw lessons learned and continue to improve civil defense plans, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
