From May 18 to May 21, the periodic health check-up program for cadres under the management of the City Party Committee Standing Committee, veteran revolutionary cadres and pre-insurrection cadres who are receiving benefits in Hanoi is organized at Thanh Nhan Hospital. The activity aims to strengthen health management, early detection of diseases and improve the effectiveness of monitoring and treatment.
The program is implemented according to the plan of the Hanoi Department of Health and the Hanoi City Health Protection and Care Board. This year's health check-up has 356 officials from many districts, wards, and communes (old) participating such as Hai Ba Trung, Hoang Mai, Thanh Tri, Phu Xuyen, Thuong Tin, Hoan Kiem,...

Right from the early morning, the reception, guidance and diversion areas were arranged synchronously to ensure convenient examination. Officials were given many check-up lists such as Internal Medicine, Surgery, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose, Throat, Odonto-Stomatology; digital heart and lung X-ray; electrocardiogram; general abdominal ultrasound, thyroid, mammary; blood count, liver and kidney function, blood fat, blood sugar, uric acid; HbA1C index assessment, thyroid endocrine; cancer screening with specialized markers as directed. Necessary cases will be indicated for in-depth examination and appropriate treatment advice.
Talking to reporters, BSCKII Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, Deputy Director of Thanh Nhan Hospital, said that during the examination, some cases were recorded with previously undiagnosed pathologies.

Through periodic health check-ups, some cases are detected early with diabetes, thyroid diseases and metabolic disorders. Screening helps patients have appropriate monitoring and treatment directions and better health control," said Dr. Huong.
In addition to early detection of diseases, periodic check-ups also contribute to raising awareness of proactive health care in the elderly group. Many chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes or dyslipidemia, if detected early, can be effectively controlled and dangerous complications limited.
In the context of increasing non-communicable diseases, experts assess that periodic health check-ups play an important role in prevention and community health management, especially for high-risk groups or those with underlying diseases that require long-term monitoring.
