According to the new weather forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration ( pagasa), the tropical depression (local name: Wilma) is located about 180 km east of Borongan (Eastern Samar), with sustained winds of 45 km/h and gusts of 55 km/h.
Tropical Depression Wilma is forecast to make landfall in the Philippines in the Eastern Visayas region from tonight to tomorrow morning, continuing to sweep through the Visayas provinces until the end of December 7 before moving out to sea and approaching northern Palawan.
The tropical depression is expected to officially enter the East Sea from the early morning of December 8, not excluding the possibility of strengthening into storm No. 16.
The forecast track of the tropical depression towards the Central Central - South Central region and causing moderate to heavy rain from Hue to Khanh Hoa.
In the weather forecast, Pagasa warned that strong winds could affect provinces from Sorsogon, Masbate, conc conc conceded, Leyte, Bohol to many areas of Negros, Iloilo, Capiz, Guimaras, Surigao and Camiguin, making travel - especially by ferry or boat - easily interrupted.
Heavy rains from the tropical depression and the Northeast monsoon could cause localized flooding in some areas, while the seas along eastern Luzon and Visayas are in a state of strong to very strong activity, with waves from 4.5 m to 5.5 m high, making sea tourism unsafe.
