According to the latest weather forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on the morning of September 18, Tropical Depression Nando is about 1,335 km southeast of Luzon Island. The current intensity remains at 55 km/h strong winds, gusting to 70 km/h.
In the next 48 hours, the tropical depression is forecast to continue moving northwest and is likely to strengthen into a storm while still offshore.

Meteorological experts warn that when approaching land, the storm is likely to reach strong typhoon level and the possibility of becoming a super typhoon cannot be ruled out.
Heavy rain has not been recorded in the first 48 hours of the storm's formation, however, heavy rain is forecast to start from Sunday (September 21) or Monday (September 22).
The seas in the suburbs currently have waves about 2 m high, especially in the eastern part of Cagayan province, Batanes and Babuyan Islands, as well as along the coast of Ilocos and Pangasinan.
Tourists are advised to limit going to the sea, avoid activities such as fishing, ferrying, diving or water sports in the coming days.
