Storm No. 9 is forecast to officially make landfall in Mong Cai area (Quang Ninh) causing widespread heavy thunderstorms.

According to the latest storm news from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 9:00 a.m. on September 25, the center of storm Ragasa was at about 21.5 degrees North latitude - 108.5 degrees East longitude, about 60km east of Mong Cai (Quang Ninh).

The strongest wind near the storm center is level 8 (62 - 74km/h), gusting to level 10. It is forecasted that in the next 3 hours, the storm will move westward, at a speed of about 20km/h.

It is forecasted that by 1:00 p.m. this afternoon, Typhoon Ragasa will move westward at a speed of about 20 km/j and gradually weaken into a tropical depression. The center of the low pressure is located at about 21.5 degrees North latitude - 108.0 degrees East longitude, on the mainland northeast of Quang Ninh province.

The strongest wind near the storm center is level 6-7, gusting to level 9. Natural disaster risk level: level 3 for the Northern Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast coastal area.

Due to the influence of storm Ragasa, from the morning of September 25 to the night of September 26, in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, there will be heavy to very heavy rain, with common rainfall of 100200mm, locally over 300mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain over 100mm/3 hours.

In addition, in the afternoon and evening of September 25, the Central and Southern highlands will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with common rainfall of 1530mm, locally heavy rain over 70mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain over 60mm/3 hours.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. From September 27, heavy rain in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will gradually decrease. Due to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, hail: level 1.

Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas, and industrial parks. Flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes.
