Vietnam Airlines had to cancel 14 flights between Hanoi and Da Nang due to the impact of bad weather on the evening of June 11 and the morning of June 12.
Flights VN7167 and VN7165 from Hanoi to Da Nang had to change direction to land in Cam Ranh or return to Hanoi because they did not meet the conditions for operation at this airport.
Meanwhile, 7 flights to Da Nang had to wait, affecting the route, causing 32 other flights to be delayed from 20 minutes to 1 hour and 5 minutes.
In addition, at Phu Bai airport (Hue), bad weather also affected the operation, many flights to and from had to wait or depart late.
On the afternoon of June 12, the airline plans to increase flights and arrange wide-body aircraft on the Hanoi - Da Nang route to serve affected passengers.
Meanwhile, Vietjet recommends that passengers proactively check flight schedules and weather before arriving at the airport. Many flights may adjust their operating plans due to the impact of bad weather.
Currently, the 2025 storm season has begun, which could change passenger travel plans and affect airlines' punctuality indexes.
Vietnam Airlines recommends that passengers wear seat belts throughout the flight, especially in complicated weather conditions. Proactively installing seat belts, even when the signal lights are turned off, is an important measure to help reduce the risk if the aircraft encounters air disturbances.
