Forecast of 2 storms appearing near the East Sea right after storm Yagi

Two more tropical storms are likely to appear near the East Sea in September, after super typhoon No. 3 Yagi caused great damage.

According to the latest typhoon bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the country may face two tropical storms in September after Super Typhoon No. 3 Yagi, also known as Typhoon Enteng in the Philippines, hit the country mid-last week.

PAGASA is currently monitoring a low pressure area near the Philippine forecast area (PAR).

Forecasts suggest that this low pressure area has the potential to move into PAR and develop into a storm next week, although this possibility is considered low.

The low pressure area may contribute to the strengthening of the southwest monsoon, bringing heavy rains across the entire Luzon region, especially in Metro Manila and the western part of the island.

PAGASA weather forecaster Ana Clauren-Jorda said another disturbance could strengthen into a low pressure area in the coming days, although it is still far from PAR.

PAGASA predicts the storm will move northwest. Although it is not expected to make landfall, Jorda said a second storm could hit in September, which could intensify the southwest monsoon.

According to information from PAGASA, if the two new tropical storms form, they will be named Ferdie and Gener.

In another development, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) of the Philippines reported that about 547,000 households in the Philippines were affected by Typhoon Yagi - the storm locally known as Enteng.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said the death toll from Typhoon Yagi has now reached 13, including seven in Calabarzon, three in Bicol, two in Central Visayas and one in Western Visayas.

According to the DSWD, the total cost of humanitarian assistance has reached 102.5 million pesos ($1.8 million). The agency still has 134.6 million pesos ($2.4 million) in its contingency fund, despite having requested an additional 875 million pesos ($15.5 million) from the Department of Budget and Management to supplement and strengthen its rapid response funds.

If you are planning to travel to the islands of the Philippines, Vietnam or other Southeast Asian countries between September and December, be prepared for the possibility of schedule changes due to bad weather conditions.

For tourists in Vietnam, take special note when traveling in the Central and Southern provinces during the rainy and stormy season, which usually lasts from September to December.
