Storm No. 3 Yagi swept through Hanoi, continuing to cause heavy rain and strong winds in coastal areas from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa, and deep inland areas in the Northeast.

According to the latest information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 9:00 p.m. on September 7, the center of storm No. 3 Yagi was located at about 21.0 degrees North latitude; 105.6 degrees East longitude, on the mainland of the capital Hanoi.

Strongest wind: Level 9-10 (75-102km/h), gusting to level 12. Forecast in the next 3 hours, the storm will move west, speed about 15-20km/h.

The Northern provinces and Thanh Hoa have experienced heavy rains with significant rainfall recorded in many localities.

In the Northeast region, there was heavy to very heavy rain. The rainfall from 00:00 to 19:00 on September 7 was over 200mm in some places such as: Cat Ba (Hai Phong) 215mm, Dong Trieu (Quang Ninh) 224mm, Cam Pha (Quang Ninh) 213mm, Mau Son (Lang Son) 220mm, Phu Duc (Thai Binh) 409mm, Xuan Thuy (Nam Dinh) 221mm...

It is forecasted that in the next 3-6 hours, the Northern provinces and Thanh Hoa will continue to have heavy rain. The average rainfall is forecast to be from 100-150mm, with the possibility of some places exceeding 200mm.

In particular, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Ha Giang, and Cao Bang provinces could receive rainfall from 40-90mm, and could exceed 120mm at some points.

The risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides on steep slopes in many districts is very high in the next 6 hours.

The level of disaster risk due to flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence due to rain or water flow is currently determined as Level 1.

From the evening of September 7 to the morning of September 8, the Northeast and Thanh Hoa regions will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 80-180mm, locally over 350mm.

In the afternoon and night of September 8, there will be moderate rain, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall ranging from 20-50mm, over 100mm in some places; in mountainous areas, there will be heavy rain, locally very heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 60-120mm, over 250mm in some places.

In the Northwest, from the evening of September 7 to the morning of September 9, there will be heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 100-350mm, locally over 500mm.

According to the warning of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, flash floods and landslides can cause serious impacts such as local traffic congestion, affecting the movement of vehicles, and threatening people's lives.
