The first Brocade Festival in Ban May (Sa Pa) with the theme "Golden season of brocade" promises to bring a new experience journey for tourists.

The first Brocade Festival in Ban May (Sun World Fansipan Legend) will take place from now until the end of September 6, 2026. With the theme "Golden season nurturing brocade colors", the festival promises to bring a poetic Journey to experience the Northwest autumn, bringing visitors to touch the breath of life and brilliant culture of the highland people.

The Brocade Festival will also recreate the golden season on the slopes of Sa Pa mountains - where rice ears laden with grains are the fruit of many months of diligent cultivation by the Northwest people. Visitors can learn and explore the process of transforming rice plants, reeds, and linen plants on the fields into fabrics and brocade patterns created by the skillful hands of the highland people.

If the golden season is the result of labor, then brocade is the place to preserve the life, belief and identity of the people of the Northwest on each fiber of fabric.

The highlight of the festival is the minishow "Sunny and Rainy Season" inspired by the life and culture of the Mong people in the Northwest region. Through dance language, local music and typical props such as baskets, ladders, corn, rice and a 25m long brocade plate, the show fully recreates the cycle of life. The harmony between real sound and performance art has fully portrayed a resilient, loving community, shining brightly in the mountains and forests.

In the festival space, visitors can also witness two New Rice rituals of the Tay and Thai people - cultural practices associated with crops, gratitude and spiritual life of the community.

With the Tay people, the New Rice ritual is performed under the guidance of Then Phuong artisans. Through Then lyrics, ritual rituals and offerings, the ritual expresses gratitude to heaven and earth, ancestors and sacred forces who have blessed a prosperous harvest.

Continuing is the New Rice Offering Ceremony of the Thai people, expressing gratitude to heaven and earth, praying for peace, prosperous life and good harvests. When the ceremony part concludes, the Ban May space moves to a bustling festival rhythm with Xoe dance and singing, bamboo dancing and community exchange activities.

The story of Northwest culture continues to be told in artistic language through elaborately staged performances, along with fashion shows inspired by brocade materials and patterns. Visitors can also directly immerse themselves in the festival atmosphere through folk games such as stilt races, rice cooking contests, banh day making...

Especially, coming to Fansipan on the occasion of National Day September 2nd, visitors can also immerse themselves in the natural picture of late summer and early autumn with Muong Hoa terraced fields gradually turning yellow, layers of hazy clouds and brilliant flower colors on the mountains. Going higher, water hyacinth flowers bloom orange in the sky, creating a rare and brilliant Fansipan picture of the year.

After the journey of exploring nature and culture, visitors can continue to visit the Sun World Fansipan Legend spiritual cultural complex, enjoy highland cuisine and enjoy the beauty of Sa Pa in the middle of autumn.

From the yellow color on the fields to the patterns on brocade, from the New Rice rituals to art performances imbued with national colors, the 2026 Brocade Festival opens up a Northwest that is both brilliant and rich in heritage depth.
