On October 19, flight VJ3522 of Vietjet Air carrying 220 Russian passengers to Phu Quoc, in the package tour charter program including air tickets, accommodation, sightseeing and local services directly operated by Anex Vietnam.
A representative of Anex Vietnam Company said that the total number of Russian visitors to Vietnam in the winter of 2025-2026 will be higher than in the winter of 2024-2025.
The charter flights are operated to ensure the transportation of more than 10,000 international visitors per month to Phu Quoc pearl island. Each passenger stays for about 10 days and nights at 2-5 star hotels.
Mr. Tran Minh Khoa - Chairman of Phu Quoc Special Zone People's Committee said that in recent times, Phu Quoc has become one of the favorite destinations for international tourists. The resumption of direct flights from Russia to Phu Quoc contributes to affirming the tourism position of the pearl island on the international tourism map.
The implementation of the 2025-2026 winter flight program by tourism businesses and airlines is one of the key activities to stimulate international tourism, contributing to promoting the image of Phu Quoc as a high-end resort destination, while promoting local socio-economic development.
According to the An Giang Department of Tourism, in the first 9 months of 2025, the province welcomed over 19.9 million visitors, an increase of 18.7% over the same period, reaching 94.8% of the annual plan, of which international visitors were over 1.2 million, an increase of 63.4% over the same period, exceeding the annual plan by 1%; total revenue from tourism reached over VND51,000 billion.
Phu Quoc special zone alone welcomed 6.5 million visitors, 1.2 million international visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching about 31,000 billion VND.
