Sturla Holm Laegreid - the bronze medalist of the 2026 Winter Olympics - admitted to adultery and was not forgiven by his girlfriend.

Norwegian athlete Sturla Holm Laegreid won a bronze medal in the men's 20km individual biathlon at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

However, instead of celebrating, Laegreid burst into tears on television. Sturla Holm Laegreid confessed that he had betrayed his girlfriend 3 months before participating in the Olympics.

I met her 6 months ago, the most beautiful and kind person in the world. But 3 months ago, I made the biggest mistake of my life when cheating.

My eyes are only on her. I don't know what to say this for, but in recent days, I haven't been able to focus my whole mind on sports. I accept being hated by society. Because at least, she will understand how much I love her.

The 28-year-old athlete called his actions the last "nuclear bomb", hoping to save the relationship. However, Laegreid's efforts to atone for his mistakes did not yield results. Not only was he criticized by the public, he also did not receive forgiveness from his girlfriend.

The unnamed girlfriend frankly expressed: "Even if he confesses his love to the whole world, I still can hardly overcome the pain of being betrayed.

Hopes were dashed, the Norwegian sports star apologized for bringing personal matters to television, affecting the country's sports.

In terms of expertise, Laegreid won a bronze medal in the men's 20km individual biathlon thanks to successfully completing the cross-country skiing event and hitting 19/20 bullets. This is his first Olympic medal in his career, and also a stepping stone for upcoming competitions.
