At the beginning of the show, MC Ngoc Lan took out a teddy bear from the memory box. When looking at the teddy bear, Ms. Nguyet Linh could not hide her emotions when remembering her daughter who passed away from cancer: "My child had cancer and passed away in 2018. She often played with teddy bears because when she was sick The baby is only 3 months old.
She passed away when she was 5 years old at the Oncology Hospital. When the baby passed away, there were many teddy bears around him. I felt that during his time in the hospital, the teddy bears were his friends."
When a mother saw her baby being constantly punctured by needles in her skin, Ms. Nguyet Linh choked up and shared: "When I see my baby having blood taken and receiving medicine, there are times when the needle veins are not there. If there is, take it from the top of the head for a blood transfusion. I look at myself in so much pain, I wish I could replace my child."
MC Ngoc Lan asked about the memories that Ms. Nguyet Linh could never forget. She choked up and said: "That time, I took my baby to the supermarket, and he pointed at the candy gifts to show that he wanted his mother to buy them and give them to his roommates. I carried the baby to each bed to give gifts, the baby was very happy. I told the baby to get well soon, the mother and child went home to cook and bring it to their friends. The baby nodded, but in the end the baby still did not survive."
After losing her little daughter, Nguyet Linh overcame the pain by starting a new journey. MC Ngoc Lan continued to take out a lunch box named "Mother Nhu" from the memory box. Delivering meals to the children, I recall the image of the mother and child who were at the hospital and ate meals from volunteer groups. Every time I pass by the room where my daughter used to live, the bed where we used to sleep, eat, and sleep for 5 years, and the memories of children's holidays make my heart ache. I don't know if I can bear the pain of being away from my child to continue this journey," Ms. Nguyet Linh confided.
As a mother herself, female MC Ngoc Lan emotionally expressed her sympathy and admiration for what Ms. Nguyet Linh has done for pediatric cancer patients: "I'm also a mother so I understand." that feeling. Sometimes I don't know if tomorrow I may encounter a similar situation."
Besides the 0-VND rice kitchen, Ms. Nguyet Linh also opened a residence with 25 houses with completely free accommodation for pediatric cancer patients who have difficulty finding accommodation. Every month she also organizes a birthday party for the children, giving each child a wish.
MC Ngoc Lan wondered what work both Nguyet Linh and her husband do to have money to take care of the children. Ms. Linh said: "Funds for operations are partly due to sponsors. In addition, the couple has their own business. In addition to the 0 VND kitchen, the accommodation also costs 0 VND for all laundry and food costs.
