Signs that young people are losing their true connection

HUYỀN TRANG |

Prioritizing online connection over direct meetings is one of the signs that many young people are gradually losing their true connection.

The development of social networks makes connections between people easier than ever. However, as interactions in cyberspace gradually replace direct meetings, many young people may fall into a situation of dependence on online connections without realizing it.

According to psychologist Mai Viet Duc - Nhan Hoa Viet Counseling and Psychotherapy Center, some signs show that young people are gradually becoming dependent on online connections and losing their true connection.

- Prioritize online interaction over direct meetings, feel "reluctant to socialize" when there is no screen cover.

- Feeling restless, anxious, and expectant when not receiving a message response or no new notification on the phone.

- Measure self-worth through likes, followers, interactions on social networks instead of real-life relationships.

- The depth of conversations on social networks is gradually decreasing, mainly communicating with memes, stickers, tags or short messages.

- There are many friends on social networks but no one to call when you are sad or need to share directly in real life, always feeling lost and lonely.

Psychologist Mai Viet Duc said that when these manifestations appear frequently, it is a sign that young people are deviating from real connections and dependence too much on the virtual world.
