According to the investigation, a girl named Yang was arrested on charges of pretending to be pregnant to appropriate money from Son Heung-min.

She announced her pregnancy to both of them. In a recording with an accomplice named Yong (a man in his 40s), Yang admitted that it was unclear who the father of the child was.

Despite doubting the authenticity of the photo and the time of pregnancy, the male player still agreed to spend 300 million won (about 5.5 billion VND) to avoid controversy.
However, the matter did not stop there. Yong continues to seek a second blackmail. The man claimed to have discovered a commitment to keep the divorce a secret in Yangs phone and demanded an additional 20 million won (about 372 million VND) to return the documents.
Not long after, Yong even offered to cooperate with Son Heung-min to sue Yang, in exchange for 70 million won (about 1.3 billion VND) to provide evidence.
In response to this development, on May 17, the Seoul Court issued an arrest warrant for both Yang and Yong on charges of blackmail and attempted blackmail, due to concerns that the two could flee or destroy evidence. The case continues to be investigated.
