According to Korean media reports on May 18, Yang (a woman over 20 years old) and Yong (a man over 40 years old) went to court to attend a pre-trial hearing.
Both were accused of blackmailing Son Heung-min for more than 300 million won, threatening to release evidence that Yang was believed to be pregnant with Son Heung-min's child if he did not pay.
The two had dated before and in June 2024, Yang sent Son Heung-min an ultrasound image and was said to have used this image to blackmail him.
Currently, the police have confirmed that Yang is indeed pregnant. By checking the woman's hospital records, the police could confirm that she had an abortion and that the ultrasound image sent to Son Heung-min was real and belonged to Yang.
However, it is still unclear whether the child belongs to Son Heung-min.
The investigation is ongoing, as police want to determine whether Yang took advantage of her pregnancy to blackmail Son Heung-min. At today's trial, Yang once again denied that she had blackmailed Son Heung-min.
