At the program "Meeting for Lunch", viewers had the opportunity to witness a familiar story that is both cute and emotional between Tram Van Sam (Quang Nam) and Bui Thi Huyen Trang (Thai Binh) - both living and working in Hanoi.
Right from the opening part, the atmosphere was exciting with Sam's unexpected magic trick. From newspapers torn up and restored intact, to the trick of "doubling" a banknote, the guy made the MC and female friend constantly exclaim: "Wonderful!".
After applause, the story turned to a more somber tone. Sam shared that when he was in his first year of university, his father passed away, his family fell into difficulty, and he himself dropped out of tuition fees, forced to temporarily stop studying to work part-time. From serving at a pub, helping with the kitchen... he accidentally met a street magic artist and realized that in just one day, this person's income could be many times higher than his current job.
I consider it motivation. I think trying my best will achieve success," Sam recounted.
From then on, the young man taught magic himself through YouTube, starting to perform "candy tricks" around the streets of Hue to earn money. Luckily, he met a "show organizer", was promoted and earned extra income. But the big turning point was when the school announced that it was about to run out of study time, Sam decided to return to the lecture hall.
He recounted the moment his mother and sisters were sad when they learned that their son had dropped out of school for a long time to perform, but he affirmed that he would "get a degree at all costs". As a result, Sam studied together and completed his university program in about a year and a half.
After graduating, Sam used to become a lecturer at a college, hoping to motivate students who were once in difficulty like him. However, because of his desire to develop his career and salary, he returned to his job as a programmer, and continued to perform magic as a "fate", both to bring joy to everyone and to "nurture" his passion.
On the female friend's side, Huyen Trang created sympathy with a gentle conversation. She shared that she sympathized with Sam's story of surpassing, although the starting point of the family was quite happy. "I think I also have kindness to everyone... so I feel touched by your story," she said.
When asked to self-assess, Huyen Trang admitted that she is strong, responsible, practical but sometimes hot-tempered, "love and hate are expressed all over her face". That frankness creates a unique charm - true to the spirit of "meeting new people but not acting".
The sweet atmosphere was pushed to a climax in the gift-giving part. Sam prepared a "scene" of magic with a card, a bouquet of flowers "without flowers" but touched and "bloomed", along with a gift box containing a book titled with a clear message: don't miss each other. He also subtly prepared more warm items because "Hanoi is in the cold season". Huyen Trang was surprised and constantly mentioned the feeling of "warmth" - from the story, attitude to the way the other person gives gifts.
The broadcast episode closed with lunch, chatting through question cards - where both shared the proud things of the past year. From career advancement, learning foreign languages, to accompanying an ex when sick or simply "not sick this year" - small achievements were lit into 7 candles on the cake, creating a romantic and positive moment. Finally, both closed their eyes and pressed the button, the love light lit up, opening up a new beginning. The girl hopes to have a beautiful journey with the male lecturer.
