Hyoyeon (SNSD) attracted attention when sharing her concern for Sooyoung after the female singer ended a multi-year relationship with actor Jung Kyung Ho. The story was revealed in an entertainment program, showing the close relationship between SNSD members after more than 15 years of activity.
In a new video on her personal YouTube channel "Hyoyeon's Level Up", Hyoyeon appears with Yuri and Sooyoung in the group project "Hyorisoo". The three SNSD members also participate in a comedy skit related to the music program "Show! Music Core" of MBC station.
In one scene, Hyoyeon prepares to give sandals to Yuri and Sooyoung. When the crew commented that the female singer recently often gives gifts to members, Hyoyeon explained that she wanted to encourage the sisters who have been with her for many years.
Because Yuri often says she will leave the group, and Sooyoung looks lifeless, I think if they give gifts, they will be happier. I want to give small gifts to my members," Hyoyeon shared.
Hyoyeon's statement received attention when Sooyoung just went through a breakup with Jung Kyung Ho after more than 10 years of attachment. However, the female singer did not reveal the reason why Sooyoung seemed tired, but only expressed her desire to care for and encourage the sister in the group.
When Yuri joked that giving shoes can make the recipient "go away" according to Korean folk beliefs, Hyoyeon immediately changed her mind: "Ah, that's right, that's not okay. Buy it yourself. Because I don't want you to leave".
The response made Sooyoung laugh and humorously said that she had a feeling of "being given and then being taken away", creating a joyful atmosphere in the program.
Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho were once one of the couples of interest to the Korean public. The two publicly dated from 2014 and maintained the relationship for more than a decade. During their time together, the two repeatedly expressed their support for each other but still kept their private lives relatively secret.
Last June, the couple confirmed their breakup after many years of attachment. This information surprised many fans because Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho were once considered one of the lasting relationships of the Korean entertainment industry.
Besides Sooyoung's private life story, the interaction between Hyoyeon, Yuri and Sooyoung also received attention from the audience. SNSD is one of the influential girl groups of K-pop second generation.
