Prepare parenting skills early
Recently, many cases of child abuse have been discovered, causing public outrage. Not only causing serious physical and mental harm to children, these cases also show many gaps in the work of detecting, intervening and protecting children today.

From a psychological perspective, psychologist Luu Nguyen Thu Ha - NHC Vietnam Center for Human Development and Psychology - believes that young couples need to be equipped with knowledge and skills before entering the role of parents.
Learn to understand yourself, learn to understand others. Two people need to learn how to accompany each other in family life. When preparing to have a baby, you must learn how to raise children, how to assign responsibilities to avoid pressure on one person," the psychologist shared.
According to Ms. Thu Ha, raising children needs to start from the psychological preparation of parents right from the pregnancy stage. When there is a lack of emotional control skills, life pressure can easily lead to indifferent behavior with young children.
From the very beginning of pregnancy, the mother needs to learn how to nurture the child from within, both emotionally and psychologically. When parents are well prepared, they will reduce a lot of pressure, loss of control and violent behavior in the process of raising children," psychologist Luu Nguyen Thu Ha analyzed.
Enhancing community responsibility
Regarding recent cases of child abuse, Dr. Dang Van Cuong - Law Office of Chinh Phap Law Firm (Hanoi Bar Association) - said that these are serious cases because they directly infringe upon the lives and health of children, a group of subjects specially protected by law.
The act of beating and torturing children is very cruel and unacceptable. The investigation agency's prosecution of related subjects is necessary and in accordance with legal regulations," Mr. Cuong said.

According to lawyer Dang Van Cuong, there are many reasons leading to child abuse such as moral degradation, lack of legal knowledge and the concept of violent education still exists.
Many people still think that beating and scolding is a way of teaching children, while modern society has put children's rights and child safety first. Therefore, there are still many cases of using violence to replace education, such as beating or scolding children," the lawyer shared.
In addition, Mr. Cuong said that it is necessary to strengthen support measures and rapid response mechanisms to promptly protect children when there are signs of abuse.
There needs to be closer coordination between families, schools, communities and functional agencies to detect and support children in a timely manner. If appropriate mechanisms are built, child protection will be much more effective," the lawyer emphasized.
