The MV "Giá như anh là em" marks Le Quyen's return with MV format after more than 1 year since the album "Khúc tình xưa 6". Notably, this product has the significant contribution of her boyfriend Lam Bao Chau, from proposing to make the MV, writing the script to participating in directing on the film set.
Le Quyen said that initially, she only planned to release the song in audio form. The turning point came when she and Lam Bao Chau listened to the demo on the way back from the studio on a rainy night.
A sweet ballad like that, listening to it in the car in the rainy night, made me focus more on each line of music. Overflowing with emotions, Chau told me that this song had to be filmed in an MV," Le Quyen recounted.
That very evening, Lam Bao Chau started writing the script, shaping the content, filming method and contacting the crew to start the project. The preparation time was rushed when Le Quyen only had 5 days left in Vietnam before the trip to the US.
The entire MV is filmed underwater, with minimalist staging to focus on the emotions of the characters. Lam Bao Chau takes on the role of screenwriter and assistant director, and directly guides Le Quyen during the acting process.
After many years of performing on stage, Le Quyen has a habit of using many hand gestures and strong expressions when performing. However, in front of the MV's camera, Lam Bao Chau asked her to restrain herself.
Chau constantly reminds me'just act with my eyes, don't reach out'. Sometimes I'm also angry, also annoyed," Le Quyen shared.
This is the first time Lam Bao Chau has deeply participated in creating a music product of Le Quyen.
The MV production process also featured the dancesport champion couple Khanh Thi - Phan Hien. Le Quyen contacted for support when both were only a few hours away from the flight to Europe for training and competition.
Khanh Thi and Phan Hien both choreographed and participated in acting in underwater dance segments.
If only I were you" is composed by musician Hung Quan, mixed and arranged by Vinh Tam and Le Quang plays the role of music producer. The song combines the voices of Le Quyen and Minh Quan.
