The inter-regional traffic road project connecting Ho Chi Minh Road with National Highway 70B, National Highway 32C from Phu Tho province to Yen Bai province (now Lao Cai province) has a total investment of 2,120 billion VND.
During the implementation process, the project encountered many obstacles. At the end of October 2023, Lao Dong Newspaper reflected a rare story: Mr. Do Hai Ly's family's level 4 house in Dong Luong commune is located in the middle of a road about to be completed.
The reality of "house in the middle of the road" has created a bottleneck hindering the project construction progress. At that time, due to not finding common ground, Mr. Ly's family refused to receive compensation money 4 times and did not agree to dismantle it.
After the press reflected, functional agencies quickly intervened, strengthened dialogue, propaganda and removed each obstacle. On November 6, 2023, Mr. Ly's family received compensation money.
Returning to Dong Luong commune, Phu Tho province in the last days of September 2026, the image of a level 4 house once located "obscenely" in the middle of a trillion-dong inter-regional road is now just a thing of the past.

Instead, this place has a wide and spacious intersection, bustling with vehicles and a promising business establishment of Mr. Ly's family - who resolutely refused site clearance years ago.
Nearly 3 years have passed since the day he signed the land handover record, the life of old farmer Do Hai Ly's family has turned a completely new page.
The place that used to be a dilapidated level 4 house lying alone in the middle of the road has now turned into a spacious intersection, with busy traffic.
Seeing development opportunities from the new transportation infrastructure, Mr. Ly made a bold decision, which was to put aside his hard farming work all year round to switch to service business.

From the compensation money of 570 million VND received from the project, he set aside a portion to pay taxes to serve the conversion of the family's 400m2 land use purpose to residential land (located opposite the current restaurant).
Grasping the right time when the real estate market in the roadside area just increased in price, his family sold 300m2 of residential land and earned about 3 billion VND.
With a large capital and keen business thinking, Mr. Ly decided to invest more than 2 billion VND to build a 2-story restaurant in the style of a stilt house combined with a solid steel frame.
The restaurant is located right in a prime location adjacent to an inter-regional road intersection - where the traffic of people and vehicles is increasingly crowded.

Compared to before, my family's life has improved. Now, I focus on business first, and when conditions are available, I will build a house later" - Mr. Ly excitedly shared about his family's accumulation strategy.
Although the restaurant is only in the final stages of completion, business here has begun to show signs of recovery.
Over the past time, many delegations have proactively come to book tables, organize parties, and gatherings. These positive signs further strengthen Mr. Ly's family's belief in the path they have chosen.
From a family facing obstacles in site clearance, from a meager compensation amount, old farmer Do Hai Ly's family turned challenges into opportunities, seizing opportunities to rise up and get rich legitimately on their homeland.
