"Flip Side 8: Sun Hands" released in theaters during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, tells the story of teenagers in poor rural areas who nurture their passion for art.
Each child has their own circumstances, in which Tam (Doan The Vinh) is built as a teenager who is passionate about singing and dancing.
However, Mr. Phuoc (Long Dep Trai), Tam's father, resolutely stopped him. He hoped his son would focus on reviewing to pass the university entrance exam.
The film tells the journey of Tam gradually changing Mr. Phuoc's thinking, pursuing his passion with his friends.
From a person who tried to ban his children from pursuing an artistic career, Mr. Phuoc gradually opened his heart to understand, becoming a father willing to sacrifice everything so that his children could live their passion for art.
There were times when, due to disagreements in views and generational differences, Tam and Mr. Phuoc argued intensely. hugging, looking, and showing concern also became difficult between father and daughter.
The secret practice sessions, the quiet meals, and the sleepless nights create an invisible gap between Tam and his father. After that, no matter how much effort Mr. Phuoc made, it was difficult to repair the family affection.

It can be seen that Mr. Phuoc's family's controversies are not uncommon. Generation conflicts have occurred and are still occurring in society, when differences in views, thoughts and lifestyles easily lead to conflicts between children and parents.
Ly Hai painted a picture of a family of 3 modern generations, with each person's role being emphasized: a gentle grandmother - a strict father - a sacrificed mother - a poor son - a charming, cute daughter.
Besides Mr. Phuoc's family, "Flip Side 8" also depicts other lives, each family is a " link" of modern society.
For example, with Thanh (played by Ho Dong Quan) - Tam's close friend, he grew up in a family where his parents were all engrossed in making a living, crazy about work, and accidentally ignored his children's dreams. Only when they saw Thanh shine on stage did the two realize the brilliant talent that their children had quietly nurtured in loneliness.
Meanwhile, Uncle Nhan (played by Quach Ngoc Tuyen), Mr. Phuoc's best friend, faced a family scandal when his wife Lan (played by Thuy Anh) fell into the arms of a third person...
On the contrary, little Mi (Bao Ngoc) had a smoother life. She came from a rich family with progressive parents, willing to support her children to pursue their passion instead of forcing them to study abroad.
The film explores common problems of modern families: work pressure, generation gap, the conflict between personal dreams and family expectations.
Following the passionate journey of a group of young people, Ly Hai conveys the message that, despite the bustling pace of life, family is still a peaceful anchor for everyone.
The film tells a very simple story, common life has touched the hearts of many audiences. The love between members is an opportunity to heal all the broken things.
