In the online Lunch Date program - Connecting Love, Hoang Thi Lam Thuy (born in 1982, from Hue) attracted attention when sharing her journey from a medical student in Vietnam to her current life in Lyon (France).
Ms. Thuy said she is working in the field of testing. Notably, the female guest is a mother of 5 children and has been married for about 15 years.
In 2004, while studying in her fourth year at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, she accidentally met her ex-husband through Yahoo. At that time, she learned French and looked for someone to practice communicating. From conversations, the two developed feelings and then moved towards marriage.
After completing the general practitioner program, she followed her husband to France. However, life in a foreign land was not as favorable as she imagined.
According to the female guest, her degree in Vietnam was not recognized so that she could immediately continue her professional work. She had to learn more French, retake the exam and then switch to the pharmaceutical field and become a pharmacist.
Difficulties became even greater when she had no relatives by her side. During her studies, she successively gave birth to children, both taking care of her family and finding ways to rebuild her career.
I decided I would have to study again," Ms. Thuy recounted. At one point, the school accepted her, but her child was only about a month old, making it impossible for her to go far. She decided to stay home to take care of her child, and continue to improve her French to wait for another opportunity.
Recalling her old marriage, Ms. Thuy said that the two came together when their economic conditions were not abundant. She once hoped that husband and wife would try together to build a better life.
However, differences gradually appeared during their cohabitation.
According to Ms. Thuy's sharing, her ex-husband is quite conservative and hot-tempered, while she wants both of them to work hard in work and family.
I endured until I couldn't endure it anymore. I've tried my best," the female guest said about her decision to end her marriage after about 15 years.
After the divorce, she continued her work and took care of her children. Although they are no longer husband and wife, the two still accompany each other in raising children.
Currently, her 5 children are all in school, of which the eldest child has entered university. To ensure life, in addition to her main job, she said she also has time to work overtime on weekends.
At the age of 44, when her children gradually grew up, the female pharmacist decided to open her heart to seek a new relationship.
She hopes that her companion will not be conservative, ambitious, have a career, and importantly, love and be harmonious with her children. Regarding age, the female guest said that she likes older people but can still accept people about one year younger.
Another detail that surprised the MC is that although she has lived abroad for many years, Ms. Thuy said that she has not returned to Vietnam in the past 11 years.
Participating in the dating program from France, the female pharmacist said her first desire is to socialize, then find someone who can share her life after years of spending most of her time with her family and children.
