Recently, 3 actors So Ji Sub, Yoon Kyung Ho and Choi Dae Hoon of the upcoming Korean drama "Agent Kim reactivated" appeared as guests on the online talk show "Fairy Jaehyung".
During the conversation, the actors shared many behind-the-scenes stories and personal memories.
When mentioning his youth, So Ji Sub said that he practiced swimming and water polo from 3rd grade to first year of university.
He recounted: "Every day I practice for about 7 hours, and on vacation for more than 10 hours. The life of an athlete at that time created my will and spirit today. I have experienced the limits of my body to the extreme.
The actor also revealed the difficult decision between pursuing a career as a professional athlete or stepping into the entertainment industry. He said that his family's difficult financial circumstances were the decisive factor in his choice.
So Ji Sub recalled: “In the winter of 1995, I was chosen to be a model for the Storm brand. In 1996 I started acting in TV series.
At that time, I was admitted to a sports school and only about 2-3 months left until enrollment, there was an announcement to recruit a supporting model to take photos behind the late singer Kim Sung Jae.
I applied with a friend, my friend failed and I was chosen. But after Kim Sung Jae passed away, Song Seung Heon and I suddenly became the main models”.
According to the actor, initially he followed sports because he needed a scholarship to study. But when he had the opportunity to become a model, he decided to choose this job.
After that, So Ji Sub was invited to star in a TV series, so he chose acting.
The actor confessed that at that time his family was not well-off economically, so he had no other choice but to choose a path that could help him earn money.
So Ji Sub recounted the pivotal choice in his life: "The professor told me to decide between sports and the entertainment industry. On that very day, I packed my bags and left the dormitory. I didn't even have the chance to think carefully.
The actor also looked back at the change in his personality when he gained more experience in the entertainment industry, and said that marriage helped him feel more stable.
“Now I am much more comfortable than before... Before that, every time I met or answered interviews, I could feel that people felt uncomfortable being around me. When I realized that, I understood that I needed to change. I couldn't just do everything completely according to my personality,” So Ji Sub confessed.
Host Jung Jae Hyung asked if marriage contributed to that change? So Ji Sub replied: "Marriage has definitely made me more comfortable.
So Ji Sub married former radio announcer Jo Eun Jung, who is 17 years younger than him, in 2020. Since then, the couple has maintained a rather private life but has always received support and blessings from fans.
