The contest aims to select quality entries to promote the message of celebrating the 25th anniversary of Vietnamese Family Day, while contributing to identifying and spreading the good traditional cultural values of Vietnamese families.
Through entries, the contest affirms the meaning and important role of family meals in connecting family members and maintaining family happiness; creating opportunities for each person to share memories, gratitude and touching stories about traditional values around the meal tray. Thereby, encouraging people to spend more time with their families in the modern pace of life.
With the theme "Warm and loving family meal", entries focus on one of the following contents:
- Unforgettable memories: content written about a meal associated with a turning point, an event or a great joy of the family.
- Hometown flavor: content written about meals with simple dishes of grandmother, mother and the spiritual meaning behind family meals.
- Content written about meals to help resolve conflicts or connect generations (grandparents - parents - children).
- Family education from the meal tray: content written about meals and stories shared about daily life lessons for people from childhood to adulthood such as "Learning to eat, learn to speak, learn to wrap, learn to open", education about gratitude (inviting to eat), sophistication (looking at the pot, looking at the direction) and sharing through each dish for the purpose of family education from the meal tray.
- Modern perspective: content written about meals in the context of digital transformation: thinking about "online meals", Tet meals or maintaining the habit of eating together in the digital age.
For entries: they must be written in Vietnamese, in prose form, with a maximum of 1,500 words, of which the main message of the entry must not exceed 30 words, ensuring compliance with culture, fine customs and traditions and complying with the provisions of Vietnamese law.
The work can be handwritten or typed on an A4 paper (if typed using 14-inch font, Times New Roman). In case of sending images or videos via email, images must be in JPG, PNG format and videos in MP4 format, with a duration of no more than 30 seconds per video.
The entry must be the product of the author himself and the author is the sole owner of the work.
For authors: Each individual can submit many entries; entries can have their real name or pen name, but the Registration Form must fully state their full name according to personal papers.
The author is responsible for the truthfulness, accuracy and legality of the entries, and fills in all information and signs the confirmation in the Contest Registration Form according to the form of the Organizing Committee; in case the author is under 18 years old, the signature of parents or guardians is required.
The person named in the entries must be responsible before the law for the copyright of their works according to current regulations. The Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library is the agency that owns the copyright of entries sent to the Organizing Committee, including both winning and unwinning entries.
After the end of the Contest, entries will not be returned to the author; The Organizing Committee has the right to use the works to serve communication, education and related political and social activities.
The Organizing Committee is not responsible for copyright disputes; in case the prize-winning article violates copyright and related rights according to the provisions of law, the Organizing Committee will revoke the Certificate and prize money.
The prize structure of the Contest includes: 1 First Prize worth 20 million VND; 2 Second Prizes, each prize 10 million VND; 3 Third Prizes, each prize 5 million VND; 3 Consolation Prizes, each prize 2.5 million VND. All prizes will receive Certificates.
In addition, the Organizing Committee may consider awarding sub-prizes (if any).
The results of the Contest will be announced on the Electronic Information Portal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (https://bvhttdl. gov. vn), the Electronic Information Page on Family and Domestic Violence Prevention and Control (https://giadinh. bvhttdl. gov. vn) and Van Hoa Newspaper (https://baovanhoa. vn).
At the same time, the Organizing Committee of the Contest will contact the winning authors directly through the phone number or email provided in the Contest Registration Form.
Time to receive entries:
- From April 1, 2026 to the end of May 31, 2026 (time based on the postmark of the sender and the date of sending via email).
- The Organizing Committee of the Contest only accepts entries sent via email or by post.
- In addition to the envelope (or on the title sent via email) clearly state "Article participating in the writing contest about Warm and loving family meal".
