Young people prefer minimalist weddings, prioritizing experience
Along with changes in the concept of marriage and the spending style of young people, the trend of organizing weddings is also shifting. Many couples no longer focus on grandeur and crowds, but prioritize weddings with moderate scale, being personalized and investing more in experience.
Ms. Nguyen Anh Ngoc (Hanoi), who is preparing for her wedding at the end of 2026, said that she has no intention of holding a wedding that is too elaborate.
I just want a wedding of about 100 - 150 guests, inviting people who are really close and attached. For me, the most important thing is that everyone has time to chat, enjoy the atmosphere and save beautiful memories, instead of focusing too much on formality," Ms. Anh Ngoc shared.
Sharing the same view, Ms. Tran Minh Anh (Hanoi) said that she is prioritizing ideas with strong personal imprints instead of choosing available combo wedding packages.
I want my wedding to have its own mark, reflecting the true story of the couple, from decoration, music to small details. If possible, I also want to apply projection technology or lighting effects to make the ceremony more memorable," Ms. Minh Anh said.
According to many young people, weddings today are no longer a race for scale or number of guests, but an opportunity to preserve meaningful experiences with family and friends.
Personalization and technology will lead the 2026 wedding season
According to Ms. Hoang Thu Nga - representative of a wedding party organizing unit in Hanoi, the trend of organizing weddings among young people is changing significantly.
Currently, there are two prominent trends. The first is small and medium-sized weddings, about 100 - 200 guests, held in outdoor spaces or cozy indoor spaces. The second is couples who love technology, bringing effects such as 3D mapping, laser or modern projection into the wedding to create a new experience," Ms. Thu Nga said.

Meanwhile, Ms. Pham Hai Van - representative of a wedding party organizing unit in Hanoi - also said that personalization will continue to be the main trend of the 2026 wedding season when most customers today belong to the Gen Z generation.
Instead of choosing available decoration designs, couples want every detail in the wedding to tell their own story. Many people bring traditional cultural materials, folk art, craft village products or ideas from fashion and architecture into the wedding space to create a different impression," Ms. Hai Van shared.
Along with changes in views on marriage and spending trends of young people, moderate-scale weddings but invested in experience, personalization and technology application will continue to be a favorite choice for many couples in the 2026 wedding season.
