Vietnamese women's volleyball player Doan Thi Lam Oanh shared her feelings for her grandparents.

Recently, on her personal page, setter Doan Thi Lam Oanh posted a photo of herself with her paternal and maternal grandparents on the occasion of the New Year.

The female player of the Information Corps team sent these verses: "I wish the fire would never go out. My grandparents would never grow old. I live in the moment. I have loving grandparents. Xiu (Lam Oanh's nickname - PV) took a photo with her paternal and maternal grandparents."

Lam Oanh is a famous setter of Vietnamese women's volleyball. She is a pillar of the Information Corps team and the national women's volleyball team. Besides being highly regarded for her expertise, the female player from Quang Binh is also known as an emotional person, always devoted to her family, especially her grandparents.

On her personal Facebook and Tiktok pages, it is not difficult to find videos and images that Lam Oanh shares about her paternal/maternal grandparents. She once touched the audience with a video of her holding her grandfather in the countryside.

Speaking to Lao Dong, the 1998-born rower said: "My grandfather is sick and in a wheelchair. In mid-2024, my family just renovated the second floor. My grandfather has not seen the new house yet but does not want anyone to take him up.

He waited for Oanh to come back so he could carry him around. Because I was an athlete and worked out regularly, my physical condition was good. He trusted me and let me carry him to see the new house.

For me, my family has always been a great source of motivation for me to overcome difficulties in competition and life. Because I rarely go home, every time the club or team competes domestically or even internationally, my family takes the time to come watch me compete."

According to Lam Oanh, her grandparents are also enthusiastic volleyball fans. In May 2024, Lam Oanh and the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup Asian Volleyball Championship. She posted a video recording the image of her grandparents, despite their old age, still enthusiastically cheering for their granddaughter and teammates.

The grandfather sat in a wheelchair, clapping his hands and following every move of the ball. Meanwhile, Lam Oanh's grandmother had just had eye surgery and was not allowed to watch electronic devices yet, but because of her love for her granddaughter and volleyball, she still sat and listened to the commentary.

In the eyes of her teammates, Lam Oanh is always an approachable person, emotional and loving towards her family. Her parents, grandparents and relatives are certainly great sources of motivation for the female setter to continue contributing to the country's volleyball.

Doan Thi Lam Oanh was born in 1998, from Quang Binh. She is one of the pillars of the Vietnam volleyball team, and coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet has full confidence in her as a setter.

At the age of 27, Lam Oanh has participated in 3 SEA Games in her career (SEA Games 30, 31, 32) and won 3 silver medals with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.

In 2023, she and the Vietnamese team won many achievements: Asian Women's Club Championship, AVC Challenge Cup, FIVB Challenge Cup, SEA V.League runner-up, VTV Cup champion, fourth place in the Asian Championship and ASIAD 19, participating in the 2023 Women's Club World Cup.

By 2024, Lam Oanh and the national team will continue to successfully defend the AVC Challenge Cup championship, win 3rd place in the FIVB Challenger Cup, 2nd runner-up in the SEA V.League, 2nd runner-up in the VTV Cup...
