2025 continues to be a busy year for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. In addition to competing in a number of domestic tournaments such as the national championship, Hung Vuong Cup... the players will gather and focus on international tournaments taking place in the second half of the year.
According to the schedule, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will participate in at least 5 international tournaments, including AVC Challenge Cup (Asia), VTV Cup (friendly), FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship (world), 2 SEA V.League rounds (Southeast Asia) and SEA Games 33.
Accordingly, from June 8-15, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in the AVC Challenge Cup 2024.
Although the International Volleyball Federation has officially stopped organizing this tournament, the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) continues to organize it annually to create a playground for teams. However, the results are no longer valid for competing for tickets to the FIVB Challenger Cup or Nations League (VNL).
Currently, Bich Tuyen and her teammates are the defending champions of the tournament for 2 consecutive years. Therefore, Vietnam's goal is to defend the throne.
In the context of the tournament not focusing on achievements (not considering the conditions to participate in other tournaments), this can be a playground for players to practice skills, maintain form to prepare for the next important tournaments.
From June 28 to July 5, the Vietnamese team will continue to participate in the annual international friendly tournament VTV Cup 2025 with strong teams in the region and continent. In this tournament, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet can summon and test personnel to find the best squad.
In August, Bich Tuyen and her teammates will participate in 2 matches at SEA V.League 2025. The tournament will feature 4 teams: Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Mr. Le Tri Truong - General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation - said: "We have considered plans to organize a round of the SEA V.League 2025. This year, the venue will be in Ninh Binh.
This is a highly professional playground for Southeast Asian volleyball. We always want volleyball fans in many localities across the country to directly watch and cheer for the tournament. All qualified stadiums have the opportunity to be selected as the venue for the competition."
Then, from August 22 to September 7, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. This is the prestigious world playground that Vietnam has participated in for the first time.
According to the draw results, Vietnam fell into Group G with Poland, Germany and Kenya. These are 3 opponents who are all ranked higher than us in the World Volleyball Federation rankings.
The above group will certainly bring many difficulties for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. However, this is also a rare opportunity for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team to compete and compete with the world's leading volleyball teams, accumulating professional and psychological experience.
By the end of 2025 (December 7-19), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in the 33rd SEA Games - one of the most important tournaments of the year. In particular, the target set by the Department of Physical Training and Sports is to reach the finals and win a gold medal.
“This is a lot of pressure for the team. However, the coaching staff of the women's volleyball team said they will try their best to compete with the highest determination," Mr. Le Tri Truong shared.
