The National Assembly has just passed the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army, effective from December 1, 2024.
The Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army has amended and supplemented Clause 1, Article 41 as follows: "1. Graduates of reserve officer training, graduates of training as Commanders of Commune-level Military Commands of basic military branches, based on their training level, learning and training results, will be awarded the rank of reserve officer".
In the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army, Clause 1, Article 41 stipulates as follows:
Article 41.Appointment to positions, conferment and promotion of ranks for reserve officers Appointment to positions, conferment and promotion of ranks for reserve officers are regulated as follows: 1.
Graduates of reserve officer training are conferred the rank of Second Lieutenant reserve officer;
Previously, Clause 1, Article 41 was amended by Point a, Clause 2, Article 49 of the 2019 Law on Militia and Self-Defense Forces, effective from April 1, 2020, as follows:
1. Graduates of reserve officer training and graduates of training as Commanders of Military Commands at the commune level of the basic military sector are awarded the rank of reserve officer lieutenant.
Thus, from December 1, graduates of the training course for Commanders of Military Commands at the commune level in the basic military sector, based on their training level, learning and training results, will be awarded the rank of reserve officer.
