During the week from May 8 to 14, "APT." continued to achieve impressive results on the Official Singles Chart. For the 29th consecutive week on the chart, the song has only dropped one place to 25th.
"APT." has now surpassed BTS' Jimin's "Who" to become the second longest-running song by a K-pop artist on the Official Singles Chart, behind only PSY's hit "Gangnam Style" (which charted for 55 weeks when it was first released in 2012).
APT. is the opening song for the full album Rosie with 12 songs to be released by Rose on December 6.
The song was directly composed by Rose and Bruno Mars, inspired by a popular drinking game in Korea called Apartment, pronounced apateu in Korean.
The two artists agreed to keep the pronunciation of apateu (abbreviated as APT.) in Korean, as a way to honor the Blackpink member's roots.
"APT." is a pop-punk track with a cheerful, energetic melody. In the MV, the two artists show a fun, lovely interaction. The moment Rose smelled Bruno Mars' cheek caused a stir on social media.
The MV has currently reached 118 million views after 6 days of release.
