In a conversation with Lao Dong, singer Minh Quan revealed that he refused the invitation to participate in "Anh trai vu ngan cong gai" because of his changed appearance after gaining weight.
The male singer said there was a time when his weight reached 90kg, making him self-conscious and not daring to appear on stage.
"The decision to cut 80% of my stomach to lose weight made me worry a lot. Previously, very few people in Vietnam performed this method. My family also opposed it. After a period of research on this method, combined with the gastric reflux disease and listening to the doctor's advice, I decided to do it.
I tried to diet and exercise but my weight loss was very slow. But after the surgery, I lost weight quickly and effectively. I combined exercise to make my body healthier," singer Minh Quan recounted.
The method of removing 2/3 of the stomach helped Minh Quan lose weight quickly. Within half a year, he lost 18kg and his health was stable. In addition, he also improved some stomach diseases.
He admitted that uncontrolled weight gain and not doing regular tests were mistakes, so he could not control his health.
Previously, there was a time when Minh Quan surprised the audience when he appeared overweight, with many changes in his face and body.
Because of his unbalanced appearance, Minh Quan felt self-conscious and almost refused to perform. During his time off from performing, he missed the stage and the audience so much that he felt compelled to get back in shape.
The male singer admitted that many audiences are looking forward to his return to work, especially when the show "Anh trai vu ngan cong gai" airs.
Even though he did not attend, Minh Quan still supported some colleagues in producing music and performing during the show.
When asked about the singer he likes the most in "Anh trai vu ngan cong gai", Minh Quan chose Soobin Hoang Son. The 8x singer commented that Soobin has good singing and dancing ability and performs professionally.
