According to Korean media, actors Choi Woo Sik and Park Bo Young will soon return as the main characters in Netflix's new romance film "Melo Movie".
Recently, the cast of “Melo Movie” including Choi Woo Sik, Park Bo Young, Lee Jun Young, Jeon So Nee had a photo shoot with Elle Korea magazine and an interview to promote the movie.
“Melo Movie” delves into the lives of young people who pretended to be okay in the face of hardship. Now, they yearn to experience love and fulfill their dreams, but find themselves exhausted and tired from the constant hardships they endure.
The film is written by Lee Na Eun - the screenwriter of "Our Beloved Summer" - a work starring Choi Woo Sik, released in 2021. At the same time, the film is directed by Oh Choong Hwan, who has been in charge of "Big Mouth", "Start-Up", "Hotel Del Luna" and many other films.
Choi Woo Sik will play Ko Gyeom, a movie enthusiast who used to be an actor who took on many supporting roles, but ended up becoming a movie critic. Park Bo Young will play Kim Moo Bi, who used to hate movies but ended up becoming a movie director.
In an interview with Elle, Choi Woo Sik shared a line that highlights the meaning of the film: "Young people who are vague about both love and dreams discover and inspire each other."
"If being young means resting when you need to, working hard when it's time, while still moving forward, then I think I'm still young," he said.
Meanwhile, Park Bo Young said about her character: "Moo Bi created a lot of thorns while trying to protect herself.
I think she is a figure who can encourage young people in similar situations, showing that we have the strength within to get out of the things that are tormenting us.”
Choi Woo Sik and Park Bo Young's pictorial photos received positive feedback. Audiences praised the two actors for their youthful appearance, which is suitable for a film revolving around the theme of youth.
In particular, the "chemistry" of the two actors was revealed early in their joint promotional images.
“Melo Movie” will be released on Valentine's Day - February 14, 2025 on Netflix.
