6 years ago, the Burning Sun scandal shocked the Korean entertainment industry.
Specifically, on November 24, 2018, a man named Kim Sang Kyo was reportedly attacked at Burning Sun - a club in Gangnam run by former Big Bang member Seungri, after he went in to help a woman who was being sexually harassed.
After the fight, a series of investigations into Burning Sun and Seungri exposed a criminal network involved in the fight, including gambling, drug distribution and sexual assault.
Seungri was sentenced to 3 years in prison for 9 crimes in 2021, including using prostitution services, prostitution brokerage, gambling, embezzlement, violating foreign exchange trading laws, violating food safety laws...
However, according to Koreaboo, a recent statement from the girl who claimed to be T.O.P's (Big Bang) ex-girlfriend about the Burning Sun case has revealed shocking information.
An episode of the Above The Influence podcast featuring a businessman and influencer named Kira told about her past, including her dating history with a famous Kpop idol.
Clip footage from this podcast quickly went viral on TikTok, in which Kira claimed she dated former Big Bang member T.O.P.
She also talked about the Burning Sun scandal, asserting that T.O.P had said that Seungri must take responsibility for this scandal, because the group's management company (YG Entertainment) chose him to do so, citing Seungri as the "less popular member" in the group.
According to Kira, T.O.P also revealed to her that Seungri was paid to go to prison, even though all Big Bang members are "related".
Kira's clip attracted hundreds of thousands of views and caused great controversy.
However, many comments are skeptical about the accuracy of the information, as the police investigation has been made public for a long time and Seungri is the only member of the Big Bang group to be convicted in the Burning Sun scandal.
Currently, YG Entertainment, Big Bang members and T.O.P individuals have not commented on this issue.
