According to South Korean media, a few days ago, the Seoul Bankruptcy Court (South Korea) issued an asset preservation order and a comprehensive ban on a number of units belonging to JoongAng Group, including JTBC, JoongAng Holdings and ContentreeJoongAng.
This development has made the market particularly interested in SLL (SLL JoongAng) - the production unit behind many famous TV dramas of JTBC. However, later SLL representatives said that the projects being implemented are still being implemented according to plan.
Among the most notable works today is "The sacred jewel" - a movie featuring Ahn Bo Hyun and Lee Sung Min.
The project has completed filming and is in the post-production phase. Ahn Bo Hyun's management company also confirmed that the actor has completed the entire filming schedule and has not received any notifications related to changes to the release plan.
In addition, other projects such as Ahn Hyo Seop's "Final table" or "Gold digger" with the participation of Kim Hee Ae and Noh Sang Hyun are also said to be still being filmed normally.
However, Korean media believes that the biggest difficulty currently lies in broadcasting. Some works have been announced as part of the broadcast plan for the second half of 2026 but have not yet finalized the official release schedule.
According to a financial report released in South Korea, JTBC spent about 261.9 billion won on program production in 2024, significantly higher than many television stations in the group. Meanwhile, broadcast revenue reached about 281.7 billion won, causing the profit margin to be significantly narrowed.
In addition to content production costs, strong investment in copyright for major sports events such as the Olympics or World Cup is also considered one of the reasons for increasing financial pressure on this television station.
Currently, the hearing related to the enterprise restructuring process of JTBC and related companies is expected to take place on June 23.
While waiting for results from the restructuring process, projects with the participation of Ahn Bo Hyun, Lee Sung Min and many other stars are still being produced, but the official broadcast schedule is still a question mark that audiences are particularly interested in.
