The action comedy movie "Husbands in action" is a new project of director Park Gyu Tae - who was famous for the movie "Suddenly Winning the Lottery".
According to the director, the film tells the complicated rescue journey of two men with a special relationship: the ex-husband and the current husband of the same woman.
In previous works, I focused a lot on situational comedy arising from conflicts between character groups. With this film, the biggest difference is that the action scenes take place in many different locations" - he shared.
In the movie, Jin Sun Kyu plays Choong Sik - a drug police officer who is also Shi Nae's ex-husband (Kang Han Na). When Shi Nae is kidnapped by a criminal organization, he is forced to cooperate with Min Seok (Gong Myung) - her current husband - to carry out the rescue mission.
Throughout the journey, the two continuously fell into funny and tearful situations when they had to confront a criminal gang and find ways to overcome the difficult relationship between them. This is also a notable reunion between Gong Myung and Jin Sun Kyu after the hit movie "Super Difficult Profession" in 2019.
The work once attracted more than 16 million viewers and is still in the group of domestic films with the highest revenue in Korean box office history.
Sharing about the new collaboration, Jin Sun Kyu said he clearly felt Gong Myung's maturity after many years. "I see Gong Myung has changed a lot since the previous project. The trust between us is also greater and he reacts very naturally to impromptu situations on the film set.
Meanwhile, Gong Myung said that working with Jin Sun Kyu is once again of special significance. “After ‘Super Difficult Profession’, I always look forward to having the opportunity to collaborate with him. Every day coming to the film set makes me feel very happy” - Gong Myung shared.
In addition to Gong Myung and Jin Sun Kyu, the film also features Kang Han Na, Kim Ji Seok, Lee Da Hee, Yoon Kyung Ho... The work is expected to be released on June 19.
