According to information from the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office, a young man in his 20s broke into an apartment in Yongsan District in December 2023. This apartment was previously the residence of the NewJeans band. The young man took advantage of the unlocked apartment doors to break in and steal some of the group members' personal belongings, including hangers and cheering banners.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time this subject has committed the violation. Previously, on December 18, 2023, this person also broke into NewJeans' apartment but was not discovered.
This incident not only raises concerns about the security of idols but also affects their privacy. Although the NewJeans group moved out of this apartment in November 2024 after announcing the termination of their contract with management company ADOR, the incident still raised concerns that fans and crazy fans could easily track down and break into the artists' residences.
Previously, there were anonymous posts on social networking sites revealing the group's home address, which made the online community and fans even more worried about the safety of the members. Many people believe that it is necessary to enhance security and further protect the privacy of artists in the Korean entertainment industry.
NewJeans members are currently facing some legal disputes with ADOR regarding their exclusive contracts, which also affects the group's image and career.
