G-Dragon donates 500 million won to support young artists

HỒNG NHUNG |

G-Dragon donated 500 million won to support 50 young artists, in a community project implemented right on the occasion of the male singer's 38th birthday.

G-Dragon continues to expand community activities when Galaxy Corporation, the male singer's management company, donated 500 million won (about 9.3 billion VND) to the Juspeace Foundation. The money is used to support young artists, right on the occasion of G-Dragon's 38th birthday.

The project named "Juspeace DAY 50" will take place on August 18 at Galaxy Robot Park in Seoul (Korea). This is a program to support 50 young artists, implemented based on the direction that G-Dragon has repeatedly shared: creating more opportunities for artists to bring their works to the public and support the next generation of creators.

Through donations from Galaxy Corporation, the works of 50 selected artists will be displayed for a long time at Galaxy Robot Park. This is considered one of the main points of the project, as young artists have more space to introduce their works instead of just appearing in short-term exhibitions.

The event also has activities for the public to interact directly with works and artists. Visitors can leave encouraging messages at "The wall of hope". Some selected works will be put on charity auctions, with the proceeds for activities to support the young generation of artists.

G-Dragon, a member of Big Bang, currently holds the position of honorary chairman of the Juspeace Foundation. The organization was established with the goal of carrying out community activities, including drug prevention, addiction treatment support, and promoting the value of art in social programs.

The Juspeace Foundation has implemented many projects to discover and support new artists. From the end of 2025, the organization started the SOP program for young artists, then continued to implement activities such as "LOOP PLUS Busan" and "Juspeace Focus" at the BAC art fair. "Juspeace Day 50" continues this direction by bringing selected works into long-term exhibition spaces.

According to a representative of the Juspeace Foundation, what is important for young artists is not only financial support but also the opportunity for their works to be known to the public. Therefore, the project is built in a direction of connecting many steps, from discovering artists, supporting works to exhibitions and bringing works to audiences.

The fact that Galaxy Corporation directly contributed 500 million won and provided exhibition space also helps orient G-Dragon's social activities to be deployed on a larger scale. The company aims for a long-term model, in which young artists are supported from the stage of introducing works to having more opportunities to continue developing their careers.

Artist support activities take place right before a series of important events in the schedule of G-Dragon and Big Bang. The male singer will celebrate his 38th birthday on August 18, while Big Bang is celebrating 20 years since their debut.

On August 19, Big Bang released the digital single "BiiiG". After that, the group kicked off the world tour "Big Bang 2026-2027 WORLD TOUR 'XX : COSMOS'" with three performance nights at Goyang Stadium, Gyeonggi province, from August 21-23.

With G-Dragon, this activity continues to show the orientation of using art to create social values alongside his music career. Instead of just stopping at donating, the project focuses on creating opportunities for young artists to have space to introduce their works and reach the public for a long time.
