On the evening of November 12, Vietnam time, surpassing more than 70 contestants from around the world, Miss Vietnam Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy was officially crowned Miss International 2024.
She is also the first Vietnamese beauty to win the crown at this contest.
Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, born in 2002 in Da Nang, not only stands out with her height of 1m76 and measurements of 80-63-94 cm, but also impresses with her impressive education.
She is currently studying at two universities: University of Foreign Languages (University of Danang) and Greenwich University Vietnam.
Miss Vietnam 2022 is also one of 36 students of the school who have the opportunity to exchange students at Ubon Ratchathani University, Thailand.
Regarding other achievements, Thanh Thuy won Second Prize in the City-level Literature Competition for Excellent Students (Da Nang) in 2016; Silver Medal in the Youth Fashion Competition of Da Nang City Spring Flower Festival in 2019; Miss Student of the University of Foreign Languages, Da Nang University in 2021; First Runner-up in the Da Nang Elegant Student Competition in 2021.
Before competing in Miss International, Thanh Thuy shared that she was able to communicate in English and Korean, and planned to learn Japanese to better understand Japanese culture.
In addition to her excellent academic achievements and foreign language skills, Thanh Thuy also possesses many talents such as singing, dancing, folding origami and playing badminton. She also regularly participates in charity and volunteer activities throughout her term.
Previously, at the announcement ceremony of the representative attending Miss International, Thanh Thuy also impressed with her ability to respond to interviews intelligently and sensitively.
She shared: "As the first Miss Vietnam to come to Miss International, I will do my best to bring to the contest a representative image of Vietnam with full courage, qualities and patriotism, with a desire to promote the image of Vietnam and Vietnamese people to the international arena."
In response to Ms. Pham Kim Dung's humorous comment that many Vietnamese representatives at Miss International got married after the contest, Thanh Thuy had a witty response: "Only the representatives got married, but Miss International hasn't."
This clever answer received enthusiastic applause from the audience in the studio.
At the Miss International final night, Thanh Thuy continued to have the opportunity to demonstrate her communication and foreign language skills when answering the question: "What is the most important global event that has impacted your generation's education system?".
She confidently answered in English: "I think it is the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global education system. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have to stay at home and study online.
This is a change in the development trend of online education companies. I hope students can explore learning opportunities through online education platforms, as this is number four in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming for equality in education."
Thanh Thuy also shouted out a Japanese sentence to end her performance. This performance of Miss Vietnam 2022 was highly appreciated to help her win the Miss International 2024 title.
