Billboard music magazine has just announced that Lisa is the first global cover star in Billboard's 130-year history.
The singer appeared on the cover of Billboard in 10 regions including the US, Canada, Latin, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Arabia, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.
In an interview with Billboard, Lisa confirmed that Blackpink will reunite with a full lineup in 2025, although the exact format of the reunion remains unclear.
The reporter mentioned that YG Entertainment announced earlier this year that Blackpink will have an official comeback, as well as a world tour next year, 2025.
But when asked about the tour, Lisa looked surprised and asked in a skeptical tone: "Is that what they (YG) said?".
Lisa's manager Alice Kang later told reporters, "I don't know either. We'll have to wait and see what YG confirms."
Lisa's reaction sparked debate among fans. Many fans blamed YG for lack of communication with the artists.
Besides, some people suspect YG lied about the plans for Blackpink, which is why Lisa still doesn't know about the tour.
However, the audience also expressed admiration for the affection and attachment of the Blackpink members that Lisa shared with Billboard.
Billboard describes, “Blackpink seems to be the rare girl group that, at the height of their power, doesn’t get tired of each other. And their close relationship has been there for a long time.”
Lisa recalled that during her internship break, when most trainees would go home to visit their families, Jisoo stayed to keep her company.
Now, when the members announce their solo projects, they are the ones who support each other the most on social media.
“We know each other very well and know how much energy we put into each project. So we want to support each other and say: You did a great job!.
Like when Jennie and Rose just released their own songs, we texted and FaceTimed. They're like family. I'm so happy that they released something. It's something we all wanted to do, so I just wanted to say that I really like their songs," Lisa shared.
