Recently, the famous American culture, arts and entertainment magazine - Vanity Fair launched the 2024 edition of "Hollywood Issue". This is a special edition published annually, honoring outstanding artists of the year.
This year, Lisa appeared alongside 11 other top Hollywood actors including Zendaya, Glen Powell, Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Dev Patel, Sydney Sweeney, Josh O’Connor, Danielle Deadwyler, Jonathan Bailey, Ncuti Gatwa and Bill Skarsgård.
“These are the boldest actors who make Hollywood tick and delight audiences,” Vanity Fair noted. “Vanity Fair highlights the 12 best performers of the year.”
Introducing Lisa, the famous magazine wrote: “A famous K-pop artist with the group Blackpink, Lisa will make her acting debut in her native Thailand in the third season of HBO's comedy thriller “The White Lotus”.
A promising new path for this rapper, singer and model with undeniable charisma”.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Lisa shared that she loved the humor in the first parts of the series and was excited to work with director Mike White.
But that didn't stop me from feeling nervous when I auditioned: "This is my first time, I don't know if I can get the role or not."
In the end, Lisa turned out to be the perfect fit for the new season, which takes place in her native Thailand. “I can’t wait for people to discover the beauty of this country,” Lisa said.
Late last year, Lisa took control of her career by separating from YG Entertainment and establishing her own label LLOUD in February of this year.
Lisa admits it was a “risky” decision, “but I wanted to have a team that was really committed to me and my solo projects, and to have support when I said to myself, ‘Hey, I really like doing that! ’”.
She credits her team for allowing her to juggle Blackpink, other music projects, and her modeling career. Lisa is currently a Louis Vuitton ambassador, and she also revealed that it was her relationship with the luxury brand that allowed her to audition for “The White Lotus.”
To prepare for her debut role, Lisa took some acting classes, but due to her busy schedule, she stopped.
Lisa thanked her co-stars for helping her: “On set, everyone was very professional, they understood that this was my first experience, they helped me as much as possible and gave me great advice.”
While filming in Thailand, Lisa took advantage of her free time to work on her solo album.
Regarding the motivation for releasing a solo album, Lisa shared: “Lalisa has been out for a long time, so I know my fans have been very patient and I wanted to give them something to repay that wait.
I want to release new songs for my fans. If I don't have anything new, there's no point in meeting them.
So I'm trying to make more songs, so I have more opportunities to see them live."
Lisa expressed her anticipation for the fan meetings that will take place in November: “They attend because my songs give them energy, and they return that energy to me. That’s how I feel on stage too, it’s a great happiness.
That's why I love meeting my fans so much. I know that for many people, getting on a plane to see me in concert and following me on tour is difficult or impossible.
So I thought it would be great for me to be the one to go there, meet them, where they live.”
